Written over 300 years ago, Ludvig Holberg’s Jeppe på bjerget is a comedy classic in Danish theatre. As a practical joke, the poor drunk Jeppe wakes up in the Baron’s bed. In this radically contemporary adaption, Christian Lollike accentuates Jeppe’s past as a war veteran and updates the Baron as a socially engaged artist looking for a new marginalized muse.

Following the national success of Lollike’s adaption of Holberg’s ERASMUS MONTANUS, JEPPE PÅ BJERGET is commissioned by Aarhus Teater, opening on the theatre’s main stage on February 6, 2025. Read more on Aarhus Teater’s website.
