"Museum of the Future"

1 / 4

(print)

Editors:Anders Thrue Djurslev & Mathias KokholmPublisher:Antipyrine

Accompanying the cross-aesthetic art exhibition and theatre performance Museum of the Future at Sort/Hvid, this exhibition catalogue features figures such as the submerged bust of Frederik V, Stonehenge, the ghost, prehistoric fossils, the mime, living scobies of bacteria and yeast, and the Neo Scandinavian Man. It suggests the museum as a haunted place; considers art as a revolutionary meta-tool; proposes the museum institution as a refuge for inclusive, decolonial, feminist, and interspecies care practices in the present; and redirects the museum's archival policy from the past toward the utopian future.

Published in June 2022 on Antipyrine, the Museum of the Future exhibition catalogue features interviews with artists Ferdinand Ahm Krag, Helene Nymann, Studio ThinkingHand, and Christian Lollike, original texts by authors Madame Nielsen, Ida Marie Hede, and Center for Militant Futurologi, and a visual contribution by pop singer Tobias Rahim. Moreover, it includes Danish translations of philosophical essays in Danish translation by art theorist Boris Groys, postcolonial theorist Françoise Vergès, and curator Mela Dávila Freire, thinking with and against the project’s impossible constellation of “museum” and “future.”
